I have been pretty MIA for a while. I miss being around LJ. However, I will probably continue to be mostly absent, because I'm currently in Ireland, on my study abroad. It is probably quite apparent that most of what I use LJ for is fandom related and I don't have access to most of my fandoms here. We get pretty much no American TV here, and I have to go with whatever people post on YouTube. The internet basically shuts itself down on your computer if you try to use a torrent downloading program, and you can't watch things on the network websites from other countries. I think the only things I'm going to be able to watch till Christmas will be Gossip Girl, 90210 and America's Next Top Model. This looks bleak.
No Heroes, no Supernatural, no SCC, no Office. If anyone knows of free websites where I can watch streaming video of any of these shows, I would love you forever.
I'm going to be so depressed without reading all the new fanfic, etc about everything. It is going to be nearly impossible to avoid spoilers for four months. *le sigh*

A week ago, I got back from a two week vacation, and then three days later took a three day jaunt to the mountains. Therefore, I haven't updated in a long while. I always feel guilty when I go this long without updating. But it really wasn't something I could feasibly do without internet access.
Recently, my friends Bryce and Caitlin and I have been playing frisbee in a park near my house late at night (I would first like to mention that the park is in a very nice neighborhood and basically an extension of an elementary school-- not at all sketchy). We have a light up frisbee and it's nice to be able to run around and such when it's not sunny and 90 degrees out. Anyway, tonight when we get to the park (around midnight or so) there are two cars in the parking lot, and it is readily apparent that there is some kind of hooking up happening in one of them.
We ignore them for the better part of an hour. Eventually, one of the cars drives away and there is a guy hanging out in the parking lot and smoking a cigarette. He starts slowly walking towards us- try to picture the situation: he is wearing all black and it is almost completely dark save for some ambient light from the street. We try to just go about our business for another minute or so until it looks like he is, without a doubt, walking directly towards us. We unanimously decide to head back to our car, which is in the same direction as Creeper.
We pass by him and he slows down and starts to walk next to us, silently for a second before he says to Bryce, "That's a cool toy," nodding at the frisbee. Silence for a second and then I awkwardly say "Thanks" and we all immediately speed up. He stays at a slow pace and walks like fifteen feet behind us until we get to the car. It was definitely one of the creeipest things I've ever experienced. I was, like, 80% sure one of us was going to get stabbed and/or shot. It probably would have been me, because I am the slowest runner and have a gimpy knee.
Well, now that I haven't been stabbed, I want to know if you guys have been up to anything lately (creepy or otherwise). What did you think of season finales? Gossip Girl (OMGWTF Chuck!)? Supernatural (OMGWTF Dean!)? America's Next Top Model (OMGYAY plus-size model won!!)?

I WIN AT TV PLOT GUESSING. I totally called the big reveal from, like, two weeks ago. Also, how inappropriate was the music when the reveal happened? It made it seem like it was a joke.
At least this show is staying interesting.

Isn't it the most depressing thing when your alarm goes off right in the middle of a really excellent dream? Twice in one day?
The first dream wasn't necessarily the best one ever but it was quite fun, because I was Pam from the Office and I was with Jim, and we were bothering Angela because for some reason she was super jealous that I was with Jim. Fun stuff.
And then in the second one, I was with a Sark/Adam hybrid (who are relatively similar in a lot of respects anyway) and... um... here it gets inappropriate. It was awesome.
But then my goddamn alarm has to go and mess everything up. *shakes fist*

Excellent weekend. God I needed a weekend of just doing NOTHING in order to regain my strength to make it through the rest of school.
Sat around on Friday night, finished the last disc of Alias on DVD (and now I need a new show to start netflixing... any suggestions?), which made me feel accomplished.
Went to the Avalanche game last night (which was OMG exciting, and all-around awesome, except for the part where I had to make a mad dash for the half-mile from the stadium to my car, in order to get out of the parking lot before the end of time.), then came home and left twenty minutes later to go to a party with the roommates. Encountered a guy who was possibly the biggest asshole I have met in at least five years.
Today, sat around for most of the day till it was time to make my way up to Norlin quad for the 4/20 festivities. I was ridiculously high for the next several hours and managed to eat almost an entire pint of ice cream within 15 minutes (and that was after a huge sandwich).
Now I'm just finishing up a paper, and then I won't have too much else in terms of schoolwork for the next couple weeks. Thank God.
( and a cut for a couple pictures from the 4/20 happenings in Boulder )

Look at The Fancy Phone! I feel like a high-powered business-person. Except that I don't have one of those little bluetooth things that you put in your ear so you look like you're talking to yourself. And that one of the ringtones I've put on it is Mamma Mia. That part's not so business-person-like.
But I could totally be on the phone and be all "Get me Johnson, I need the specs on the Fitzsimmon account by four o'clock. And tell Johnson if he doesn't deliver on this, that he shouldn't bother to come into work tomorrow."
Apparently as a high powered business executive, I'm an asshole.

I got a huge freaking ticket Sunday night. Driving 76 in a 55 zone. (In my defense it was on a highway and I was not the fastest driver around) And then my insurance card was expired so I have to appear in court on May 7. Hopefully I can get that charge dropped because I do have valid insurance. And I'm gonna try my damnedest to get the speeding charge lessened if I can go to traffic school, or something. Otherwise I am so screwed. And my insurance is going to go way the feck up and my parents are going to make me pay the difference.
My parents want me to consult with a lawyer, because I already had 2 points on my license, and the speeding charge is six points, and the insurance one is 4 points. Since I'm under 21, I can only accrue 9 points on my license before it gets suspended. Does anyone have any legal advice to offer on this matter?
Other question: since I got accepted through Arcadia, I am definitely going to Ireland in the fall. Does anyone have any recommendations for clothing I should bring? What's the climate like (other than rainy)? I need some sort of waterproof coat, and should probably invest in rain boots, but other than that, I'm stumped as to what people wear over there. General fashions, and such.
Random tidbit of the day: I learned today that my college is the second whitest school in the the country. *headdesk* I can't say I'm that surprised, but I figured there'd be at least one or two more above us. (For those wondering, number one is BYU. Also not shocking.)

Strange thing first: my cell phone was just ringing, and the caller ID said it was my roommate Megan. So I answer, and it's some guy on the other end... and he says HIS phone was just ringing and his caller ID said that I was his friend... so it seems like our phones called each other and were pretending to be other people. Or something. It was really odd.

In my "Art of the Screenplay" class, we have been given an assignment to choose a movie (any movie) and write a paper about it. Any movie, any topic within/about that movie (as long as you can write 8 pages about it).
I have some serious decision-making problems when faced with such a broad spectrum of choices. Does anyone have any ideas? Anything you'd write about, if you had to do this paper? About the best thing I have come up with so far is the adherence of various Disney films to Joseph Campell's heroic archetypes. But I would really rather write about something else.
